Born to a rock and roll frontman and a musical theater star known for his incredible harmonies, it was clear from the beginning that Jonathan was destined for a life steeped in music.
By the age of two, Jonathan was already delighting his family with impromptu performances, belting out his own unique (and often out-of-order) version of the ABCs. Even in these early moments, there was an unmistakable spark of passion and confidence that hinted at the musical path ahead.
At 10 years old, Jonathan picked up his first set of drumsticks and began taking lessons, quickly joining a local band known as “Blackout.” As the band evolved, changing their name first to "The Smoking Revolvers" and later to "Plume," Jonathan experienced his first taste of performing live. The energy of the stage felt like home to him, but he always knew his true calling was front and center, leading the show.
For several years, Jonathan's vocal talents were reserved for casual performances around the campfire and at family gatherings. But at age 14, everything changed when he made his stage debut as none other than Johnny Cash. Sharing the stage with his father, who performed as Elvis Presley from his jumpsuit era, Jonathan donned a wig, grabbed a prop guitar, and delivered his very first, “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.” The performance was a hit with the audience, even if Jonathan knew there was room to grow.
Jonny Lyons & The Pride, will be performing at the Georgiana Opry House on Saturday, October 19th.

Determined to improve, Jonathan immediately began guitar lessons, grew out his hair, and studied performance techniques. Before long, his Johnny Cash tribute was fully developed, leading him to join an established Johnny Cash/June Carter tribute band called June’s Got the Cash. His dedication to the craft paid off as he became a regular part of the tribute scene, perfecting the legendary Man in Black’s presence on stage.
But Jonathan didn’t stop there. He soon added a 1950s Elvis tribute to his repertoire. Despite being new to Elvis competitions, he quickly made an impression, winning Fan Favorite and second place in only his second contest.
Even with his growing success in the tribute world, Jonathan felt the pull to create something that was uniquely his. Following his first heartbreak, he turned to songwriting as an emotional outlet. He began writing, recording, and producing his own original music, playing each instrument himself across six different instruments to bring his songs to life.
Soon, Jonathan formed his dream band, Jonny Lyons & The Pride, a five-piece group that has been lighting up stages across the Midwest ever since. Blending the best of rock and roll’s golden age with his own modern twist, Jonathan’s dynamic performances leave audiences wanting more.
Today, Jonathan travels across North America, captivating crowds with his electrifying stage presence and his ability to channel the spirit of music legends. Whether paying tribute to the past or performing his original work, Jonathan continues to entertain with passion, dedication, and an undeniable love for music that started when he was just a child.
