The Georgiana Opry House was first opened January 31,1939 as the GA-ANA Theater. Managed by A.L.Morgan it had a movie screen, as well as a stage, for traveling vaudeville shows and musical acts. Hank Williams, Sr. performed here November 5, 1939 at 16 yrs old. Young Hank walked the sidewalks of his childhood hometown that afternoon advertising his upcoming show with The Drifting Cowboys by handing out showbills.
The stage is filled with many artists names who have entertained throughout the years, as well as Hank's Star, that Pee Wee Moultrie helped to design 60 yrs later.
Full of history, our venue boasts an intimate setting of 276 seats. Family oriented. The artists often gather in the lobby to sign autographs, take pictures, and tell stories of their songs. Check out our events and shows; pick one you like and come enjoy entertainment like it used to be.
At this time we are primarily booking live shows, revivals, family reunions, and outdoor events such as fundraisers. We offer many services to help your event be special.
